Capitalism is essentially seen as an economic system in which private participants own and/or control property in accordance with their interests. In line with this is the idea that supply and demand set prices in a free market that best serves the interests of society. This is better known as free-market capitalism. There are other kinds as below. The goal therein is to make a profit, and there is an underlying benefit or aim of power.
We at R&C believe that capitalism is potentially the best form of economic system as it encourages development, competition and collaboration. The problem is that amidst the weakness of the human condition, and the power and profit up for grabs, corruption rears its ugly head. The questions raised are, can this human civilisation overcome it's greedy and corrupt ways to allow a more civilised and just capitalism that is focused on creating wealth for everyone? And can capitalism create equality? Up to now, it has done a mighty fine job of supercharging many an unequal society, creating tyrants and poverty.
